Abstract
Traditionally, mature nuts are used as ingredients to many feed preparations. The coconut meal or “sapal” residue after extracting the milk from the coconut meat ordinarily goes to waste hence, this study was conducted to determine the best level of “sapal” meal for broiler (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20%) rations. It was conducted at the Poultry Project of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La, Union from December 16, 2006 to January 22, 2007.
Seventy-five day-old chicks were distributed with five treatments replicated three times following the Completely Randomized Design (CRD).
The result revealed that sapal meal up to 10% level in the ration of broiler
significantly increased the final and gain in weight and the profit.
