Abstract
Scaling fish is one of the messiest part of handling fish where the hard scales are removed before cleaning the internal organs of the fish. This study deals with the design, development, fabrication and evaluation of a Fish Scaling Machine. The principles and concepts on Machine Elements and Machine Design had been used and exploited by the researchers to come up with the design of the machine and developed a machine able to scale fish, specifically milk fish and tilapia. Utilizing the developmental research design, the researchers found out that the FSM's design was viable and is rated as "Good" in the evaluation. The FSM’s performance was tested and got an average efficiency of 83.07% and 72.73% in Tilapia and Milk Fish respectively.
