Abstract
This study focused on the development of the Mobile-Based Student Attendance Monitoring System for the College of Information Technology. Specifically, it has to determine the status of manual attendance system as to record management and report generation; determine the framework to develop a mobile and web based system to manage students’ attendance through Rational Unified Process and to determine the level of acceptability of the developed system.
As to record management, class cards and attendance sheets are used. Attendance reports are generated through excel by the guidance counsellor and SBO Officers. Ionic framework is a powerful tool to build the system. The develop system was developed through Rational Unified Process with 12 IT professors,1 guidance counselor and 18 SBO Officers who have direct involvement in the attendance monitoring process and rated as highly acceptable as to its functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability with a grand mean of 4.15.
