Abstract
Large portion of the operating expenses in pig production goes to feeds. This prompted the swine raisers to look for an alternative source of feed supplement. One potential feed for pig is Trichantera, hence, this study was conducted to determine the performance of growing-finishing pigs fed with Trichantera gigantea soilage as feed supplement. It was conducted from July 6, 2009 to October 3, 2009. at the Piggery Project of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, North La Union
Campus, Bacnotan, La Union. A total of 20 weaner were distributed into 2 treatments with 10 pigs per treatment.
The result of the study showed that Trichantera soilage as feed supplement for growing-finishing pigs did not cause significant variation in terms of final weight, gain in weight, average daily gain in weight, feed conversion efficiency and profit above feed, medicine, stock and feed supplement cost.
