Abstract
Broilers had been found to recover after a period of feed restriction referred to as compensatory growth. This study was conducted to determine the effect of levels and duration of feed adulteration during the compensatory growth of 105 broiler chicks. The birds were distributed at random into seven treatments following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three blocks. The study was conducted at DMMMSU-NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union from August 21 to October 2, 2009.
Based on the result of the study, birds fed rations with ground rice hull from 5% to 15% level given for 5 days and 10 days duration performed comparably with the control birds in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed conversion efficiency and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost.
