Abstract
Rate of passage of feeds in the digestive tract affects retention and absorption of nutrients. This study was conducted to determine the effects of coarse limestone, fine limestone and no supplementation on the performance of layers. The study was conducted at UCCP- CONDORA, Damortis, Rosario La Union from August 30, 2005 to January 31, 2006. A total of 108 heads of H and N layers at 40 weeks old were randomly distributed in three treatments replicated four times using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD).
Based on the result of the study forms of limestone supplementation significantly influenced the eggshell thickness produce in two months after withdrawal, highly significant on egg weight, jumbo eggs, extra large eggs, large eggs, small eggs and also to Percent cracked eggs.
