Abstract
This study presents the records keeping practices in Urban Barangays in Bauang, La Union. Records management practices hold a significant role in understanding the essential skills that 'barangay officials possess. Descriptive method research design was employed for determining the practices and extent of the records activities in 36 barangay officials. The activities are based on the Records Lifecycle Theory which includes the records creation, records distribution, records utilization, records maintenance that are filed and stored, and records disposition that are based to formulate a training program. The activities practiced and their extent were determined by the help of statistical tools and the 5-point Likert scale. The survey questionnaire was employed to acquire results in activities practiced. Some of the record activities did not achieve the expected outcome. A training design was developed to enhance the practices of barangay officials in terms of records maintenance.
