Abstract
This study is entitled "THE PROFILE AND PERCEPTION OF
THIRD YEAR STUDENTS OF DMMMSU COLLEGE OF SCIENCES
REGARDING EMPLOYMENT AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE OF
THE GRADUATES".
This study aimed to know the profile and perception of third
year students regarding employment and professional expertise of the
graduates. Specifically, the study tried to answer the following:
1. What is the profile of the respondents as to:
1.1. Age
1.2. Sex
1.3. Civil Status
1.4. Monthly income of the family
1.5. Mother's educational attainment
1.6. Father's educational attainment
1.7. Number of the children in the family
2. What is the perception of the respondents regarding:
2.1. Employment
2.2. Professional Expertise
3. Is there a significant relationship between the profile and
perception of third year students of DMMMSU College of
Sciences regarding employment and professional expertise
of the college of sciences graduates?
The null hypothesis is stated as, "There is no significant
relationship between the profile and perception of third year students
of DMMMSU College of Sciences regarding employment and
professional expertise of the graduates.
The following were the major findings:
1. There were more female respondents than male respondents,
female respondents have a frequency of 88 or 76.52°k and male
respondents have a frequency of 27 or 23.48%.
2. Majority belonged to age of bracket of 19-21.
3. Majority of the respondents was single.
4. Most of the respondents have a family income of 4,999 and
below.
5. Most of the respondents belong to the 5-6 numbers of
children in the family.
6. Respondents parents' educational attainment was high
school graduate.
7. Their perception regarding employment has an average
weighted mean of 3.71 for BS Psychology,which is moderately
employable 3.68 for BS Mathematics and 3.62 for as Biology,
which is fairly employable.
8. Their perception regarding professional expertise have an
average weighted mean of 3.84 for BS Psychology, which is
moderately knowledgeable, 3.62 for BS Mathematics, which is
fairly knowledgeable and 3.98 for BS Biology, which is
moderately knowledgeable.
9. The computed value for the profile of the respondents and
their perception regarding employment and professional
expertise of college of sciences graduates using correlation
analysis is lesser than the critical value at 2-tail, .05 level of
significance.
10. The computed value is lesser than the critical value at 2-
tail, .05 level of significance, therefore, the null hypothesis is
accepted. There is no significant relationship between the
profile and perception of third Year Students of DMMMSU
College of Sciences regarding employment and professional
expertise of the graduates.
