Abstract
Organic wastes from residential areas are the greatest contributor to waste generation in the country. In order to address and seek an effective solution, Organic Waste Shredder and Pelletizer (OWSP) was created which has the ability to transform organic waste materials into useful organic fertilizer and feeds. This paper studied the design and assembly of an organic waste shredder and pelletizer following the Project Developmental research design. The OWSP underwent 10 trials for each material used in. the study which are banana peel, cabbage, and water spinach to attain reliable data to be evaluated. The shredder throughput capacity of the machine is 0.738 kg/min while its pelletizer throughput capacity is 0.136 kg/min. The machine has a shredder efficiency of 82.47%and its pelletizer efficiency is 90.47%. The Return on Investment of the OWSP, on the other hand, is 72.82% that is said to-be economically viable.
