Abstract
Promoting ease of doing business is important because businesses are the main economic engine for the country. This study determined the compliance of the second and third class municipalities of La Union in terms of streamlining business permit procedures, satisfaction of the businesses, positive reforms and problems encountered in obtaining permit requirements. This descriptive survey utilized a questionnaire in gathering data from 355 business registrants. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage and median. Findings reveal that all respondent LGUs are generally compliant to the standards on Business permit procedures set by Joint Memorandum Circular No.l series of 2016. Further, these LGUs have also established Business One Stop Shop. The new and renewal businesses are highly satisfied with the overall quality performance of the LGUs. Hence, the LGUs and government agencies efficiently delivered services as no problem encountered during the transaction.
