Abstract
In today’s era, solar power plays a vital role in promoting energy conservation across various establishments. This research developed a Microcontroller-Based Solar Powered Electrical System designed for the DMMMSU MLUC COE Student Lounge. The system harnesses renewable solar energy and is managed by an Arduino microcontroller to optimize power usage by charging a battery during daylight and supplying electricity during use. This initiative aimed to address the urgent need for sustainable energy solutions while enhancing campus facilities with an eco-friendly power source for charging devices and providing comfort during relaxation. Guided by a developmental research design, the project systematically explored the design, construction, and evaluation of the system. Performance testing confirmed the system’s accuracy in voltage and current monitoring, responsiveness, and adherence to its automated schedule—from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays, and 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays. The project aligns with global sustainability goals and demonstrates practical applications of renewable energy technology.
