Abstract
In Science education, it is a challenge for a teacher to find for alternative solutions to address the problem of the inadequacy of science laboratory facilities. Using pretest-posttest experimental research method, this study utilized Computer Simulation in teaching Science 9 as an input to enhance the performance of Grade 9 students of Binday National High School. It specifically determined the profile of the respondents; the Chemistry simulators used in the study; the level of usability of the simulators; the performance of the experimental group and the control group; significant difference in the performance of the two groups; and significant relationship between the experimental group’s academic performance and their profile. Results show that the experimental group performed better than the control group in their academic performance. Moreover, it was found that no significant relationship existed between the academic performance of the respondents and their learning style and computer literacy. With these, the researcher concluded that using computer simulation in teaching Science 9 is an effective teaching and learning strategy.
