Abstract
Online learning has a vital role in learning during the crisis. One of the struggles
of the students who thrive in the face-to-face classroom environment is to achieve similar
results in the online environment. This study is conducted to determine the challenges ill
an online learning environment of the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics students of
DMMMSU-SLUC. The descriptive research design was employed to address the research
problems. The results revealed that the online learning challenges of students varied in
terms of type and extent. The moderate extent of challenges is 011 Self-Regulated
Challenges (SRC), Technological Literacy and Competency Challenges (TLCC), and
Technological Sufficiency Challenges (TSC), while Student Isolation Challenges (SIC).
Technological Complexity Challenges (TCC), Learning Resource Challenges (LRC) and
Learning Environment Challenges (LEC) are great extent challenges to them. On the other
hand, learning strategies sometimes apply to cope with their studies such as Goal Setting,
Task Strategies, Time Management, Help-Seeking, Self-Evaluation, and always 011
Environment Structuring strategy.
The aim of this study is to design a resiliency training program to enhance the
learning strategies of the students. In addition, its goal is to provide opportunities for
students to explore their knowledge, attitudes, and values while working independently or
working collaboratively. The proposed resiliency training design has been reviewed by the
experts and personnel. The researchers recommend that: 1) The students are encouraged
to equip themselves with the learning strategies to cope with the challenges they
encountered; 2) Mathematics Club may adapt the proposed resiliency training design for
the implementation of the training program. The Resiliency Training Program may also be
utilized to address the needs of learners.
