Abstract
The vacuum street waste collector provides solutions to the problem of solid waste in street. It lessens the number of street sweepers as compared to manual way of cleaning streets. This study used the development research design. The Vacuum Street Waste Collector designed, fabricated, tested and the economic viability was analyzed. The Vacuum Street Waste Collector is operated using 7.5 HP Gasoline Engine Motor. It has an average collecting capacity of 9.3264 kg/hr when operated by one person, and 11.8152 kg/hr when operated by two people as to different solid wastes collected like dried leaves, plastics, and papers. As to its efficiency in collecting solid wastes, collecting efficiency is 59.704%, which increases to 75.798% when operated by two people. The machine is economically viable.
