Abstract
The Solar-Wind Powered Charging Station with Lamp Post (SWCSLP) offers solutions to meet the energy demands of coastal communities in La Union. By combining solar and wind energy sources, the SWCSLP guarantees a dependable and sustainable power supply for charging electronic devices, while also improving public safety with built-in lighting. This hybrid model not only decreases reliance on fossil fuels but also fosters environmental responsibility and raises awareness of renewable energy technologies among both locals and tourists. Located in highly-visited areas, the charging station offers vital services for visitors, catering to the increasing dependence on smartphones for navigation and communication. Furthermore, this project acts as an important educational resource for engineering students, providing practical learning opportunities in renewable energy systems. The SWCSLP showcases a scalable and flexible model for sustainable energy solutions, aiding local economic growth and supporting the community’s shift towards more environmentally friendly energy practices.
