Abstract
The study is a protocol for a large-scale systematic review and meta-analysis investigating the clinical epidemiology and outcomes of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) among critically ill adults receiving mechanical ventilation. It aims to establish the prognosis and risk factors associated with VAP morbidity and mortality and compare clinical and economic outcomes between patients with and without VAP. The planned review will search major databases, assess eligible prognostic studies, evaluate risk of bias, and pool outcomes through meta-analysis.
