Abstract
Due to the costly feed brought about by imported raw materials, poultry raisers are
exploring available sources of feedstuffs. Hence, the study was conducted to determine the
performance of broiler with the different levels of mulberry leaf meal (10%,15%,20%, and
25%). This was conducted at San Fernando City, La Union from March 24 to April 27,
2021. Seventy-five (75) broiler chicks were used in the study, employing the Randomized
Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three blocks.
The result of the study revealed that birds fed with different levels of mulberry leaf
meal showed comparable performance with the birds fed with pure commercial feeds in
terms of final weight of bird, total gain in weight of bird, feed consumption of birds, feed
conversion ratio, average daily gain of bird, profit above feed, and medicine and stock cost
of the birds. However, the final weight was significantly reduced when the level of mulberry
leaf meal was increased from 25 percent.
