Abstract
The use of organic fertilizer lessens the use of chemical fertilizer. However, the use of manure as tea for other crops has little information. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the response of white corn to organic fertilizer and to determine the best manure tea that could substitute chemical fertilizer it was conducted at Salincob, Bacnotan, La Union from January 21, 2017 to April 22, 2017 following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three blocks. The treatments were as follows; T0 – Control (no fertilizer application), T1 – BSR, T2 – Chicken Manure Tea, T3 – Cattle Manure Tea, T4 – Sheep Manure Tea, T5 – Goat Manure Tea. Result revealed that all animal manure teas as organic fertilizers and chemical fertilizer resulted to comparable plant height, fresh weight of biomass, number of leaves, length of corn ear, diameter of corn ear, weight of unhusked and husked corn ear, shelling percentage and grain yield on white corn. Hence, these manure teas can substitute chemical fertilizer for white corn production.
