Abstract
This study was conducted to design, construct and evaluate the performance of atwo- row corn seeder machine.
The two-row corn seeder was constructed at the Agricultural Mechanization
Division of Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (AMDPhilMech), Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija last December, 2015. The performance evaluation was done on February 7 to 8, 2016 in San Martin, Bacnotan, La Union.
The two-row corn seeder machine with an overall dimension of 110 cm x 60 cm x30.5 cm was evaluated in four treatments with three replication. To evaluate the performance of the two-row corn seeder machine; operating time, number of cracked kernels, number of misplaced hills, and average number of seeds per hill were determined.
The machine efficiency was from 88.44 percent, delivery rate was 3.26 g/m², and average of hill spacing was 23.29 cm. The machine costs Php 8,455.00. That can be recovered within 19 days
