Abstract
This study assessed the agroforestry farm practices in the upland barangays of Santol, La Union. It aimed to determine the socio-economic profile of respondents, describe their agroforestry practices, evaluate farms after adopting agroforestry, and identify problems encountered in agroforestry farming. Survey questionnaires and personal interviews were conducted to gather data. The study focused on four barangays and found that farmers were primarily older, married individuals with limited education,
engaged in small-scale agroforestry with modest incomes. Farms integrated staple crops, fruit trees, and animals, supported by technology and governmental initiatives. Despite benefits like improved biodiversity and soil health, challenges like low yields and
financial constraints persisted. The study also assessed water management, community involvement, economic impacts, climate resilience, resource optimization, success stories, and challenges in agroforestry adoption, emphasizing strategies to address challenges and enhance sustainability and productivity.
