Poultry industry is one of the most profitable business of agriculture that provides nutritious meats and eggs for human consumption within the shortest possible time. Recently, broiler industry has become a rapidly developing enterprise among the other sectors of poultry production. The growth of poultry industry in the Philippines has been impressive but its problems include the high cost of feeds. Therefore there is an urgent need to have a solution to this particular problem. Studying its potential as a feed for poultry animals cost effective methods for the mass multiplication of azolla. Poultry especially broilers can easily digest it because of its high protein and low lignin content. Hence this study on Azolla meal as feed extender was conducted from October 31, 2015 to December 5, 2015 at the Rissing, Bangar La Union. Result of the study disclosed that the final weight, profit above feed, medicine and stock cost of birds, feed conversion ratio of birds, feed consumption of birds were not significantly influenced by the different levels of azolla meal as feed extender. However, significant result was noted on the gain in weight of birds and highly significant result on the cost of feeds to produce a kilogram gain in weight of birds. Further, 5% of azolla meal resulted to higher gain in weight than those birds on the different treatments.
