Abstract
Due to the high cost of feed today, researcher are finding ways on how to use
potential feed supplements that may contribute to the viability as bio energy feedstock for
broiler ration such as duhat leaf meal. This study was conducted at Brgy. Say-oan,
Bacnotan, La Union. From November 14, 2015 to December 19, 2015 to determine the
performance of broilers fed with different levels (2%, 4%, 6%) of duhat leaf meal as feed
extender. Using the Randomized Block Designed (RCBD) a total of sixty (14-day old)
broiler chicks were distributed at random into four different treatment replicated three
times with five birds per replicate.
Based on the results of the study revealed that birds fed with ration containing 2%
to 6% Duhat leaf meal were comparable to the birds fed with the control ration in terms
of final weight, gain in weight, and feed conversion ratio. Significant difference among
treatment means was noted on the feed consumption and profit above feed, medicine and
stock cost of birds.
