Abstract
Ecotourism is about promoting conservation and sustainable travel. Ecotourism helps create a better appreciation of the world’s natural resources. This stimulates a desire to protect the natural environment. Carrying capacity may eventually reduce the impacts of tourism to the natural environment. The study is aimed to determine the (1) profile of Tangadan fall; (2) carrying capacity of Tangadan Falls; (3) demographic profile of the respondents; (4) experiences of the tourists in visiting the falls; and (5) level of satisfaction of the tourists. Descriptive research design was used in the study. Incidental sampling technique was used wherein 60 tourists were selected during peak day and 40 tourists during offpeak. Data were gathered through questionnaire, supplemented by interviews and personal observation. Frequency counts, percentage, means were used as statistical tools in the study. Result revealed that the Tangadan Falls offers cliff diving, swimming and picnic. The Tangadan Falls can accommodate 555 persons in one day. There are some features of the Tangadan Falls that are not fully satisfying for the tourists such as health and medical, emergency services, food service, communication and washroom and toilet facilities. These became the basis of the formulation of an Ecotourism Management Plan.
