Carageenan has been identified as a potential foliar fertilizer for crop cultivation.
Hence, the study aimed to investigate the effects of various levels of Carageenan (L1:
1.6ml/16L water, L2: 180ml/16L water, L3: 200ml/16L water), different frequencies of
application (F1: once a week, F2: every two weeks, F3: every three weeks after
germination), the interaction between levels and frequencies of application, and the
economic feasibility of using carrageenan for snap bean production. The research was
conducted at Sitio Pulicay, Barangay Lipay Sur, San Gabriel, La Union from February to
May 2022.
Results of the study revealed that the performance of snap beans was not
significantly influenced by the levels and frequencies of carrageenan foliar fertilizer.
Moreover, the interaction between the different levels and frequencies of carrageenan
fertilizer demonstrated comparable effects on the various parameters tested in snap bean
cultivation.
