Abstract
This study sought to evaluate the production practices of loom weavers of Bangar, La Union. Specifically, it analyzed the production process employed, determined the challenges affecting their productivity, identified the operational strategies implemented, and determined how modernization affects their productivity. Using descriptive research design with the employment of interviews and survey questionnaires, it was found that (a) the processes employed in the loom weaving enterprise remain traditional preserving the unique cultural value and age-old techniques in the face of evolving industrial practices; (b) The perceived challenges encountered are the availability of less expensive alternatives, skilled labor shortages, technological constraints, and rising input prices; (c) environmentally conscious operational strategies within the production process are observed, and; (d) modernization are less considered, the core weaving process remains rooted in tradition.
