Abstract
Due to the need for sustainable and low cost technologies for white corn production, this study was conducted to find out the feasibility and profitability of substituting half of the recommended fertilizer rate (120-60-60 kg NPK/ha) with two, four and six foliar fertilizer applications starting at tassel emergence using Crop Giant 15-3030+ME under conventional and conservation tillage systems. The study was laid out in strip plot design with three replications.
Tillage systems did not significantly affect the growth and yield of white corn except on the length of corn ear.
Results showed that plants applied with 100 % RR recorded the tallest plants, biggest ears and heaviest grain and ear yield as compared to plants applied with 50 % RR plus two, four and five foliar fertilizer application which performed comparably.
White corn production under conservation tillage with 100% RR is the most profitable.
