Abstract
The study looked into the management and performance of multi-purpose
cooperatives in the province of La Union. It was conducted during the 2nd semester of school year 2016-2017. There were 10 multi-purpose cooperative respondents including 50 officers and 50 members. A descriptive-qualitative research design was used to gather data using the questionnaire.
The cooperatives were well managed based on the evaluation made by the
respondents. Cooperatives had very satisfactorily complied and implemented the provisions set by the Cooperative Development Authority for cooperative operations in terms of the operationalization of purposes/objectives, management structure, and the required books/documents for operations and in all management functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, accounting, and financial control, monitoring and evaluation, and conduct of meetings, indicative of having achieved what they really stand for.
There was no significant difference between the evaluation of the officers and
members, indicating the agreement on the ratings they made.
