Abstract
This study was carried out to evaluate the field performance of shallow tube well pump and to determine the effect of pumping groundwater on the drawdown of the aquifer. The study was conducted at Barangay Nagyubuyuban and Balballosa, San Juan, La Union from November 2004 to January 2005. The Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with five treatments and three blocks were used. The treatments were as follows:
PW1 – Well #1 at Nagyubuyuban, San Juan, La Union
PW2 – Well #2 at Nagyubuyuban, San Juan, La Union
PW3 – Well #3 at Nagyubuyuban, San Juan, La Union
PW4 – Well #1 at Balballosa, San Juan, La Union
PW5 – Well #2 at Balballosa, San Juan, La Union
Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determined the effects of different well location in pumping. Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was used for further test of significance. The evaluation of shallow tube well on different location was evaluated. The result indicated that pumping in different well location in Barangay Nagyubuyuban and Balballosa, San Juan, La Union were significantly affect the discharge of the pump and the drawdown of water but the fuel consumption of the engine did not significantly affect.
