Abstract
The Analysis on the Suitability of the Rooftop Solar PV System for DMMMSU MLUC is to determine the feasibility of installing rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The research involved assessing the suitability of each building by considering factors like building type and use, occupancy, electricity consumption, roof dimensions and structural soundness, building age, and solar irradiance. By meticulously collecting and analyzing this data, the study aimed to pinpoint the most viable buildings for solar PV system implementation. This evaluation provides a vision for utilizing solar PV as an alternative energy source, particularly given the campus increasing population. As a significant consumer of electricity, DMMMSU-MLUC can substantially lower its operational expenses by generating its own power through solar PV. These savings can be redirected towards academic programs, research, and infrastructure development, directly benefiting the students and faculty. Installing solar PV systems reduces the campus reliance on the national grid and fluctuating electricity prices. This provides greater energy security and predictability in budgeting for energy needs, especially crucial in a region potentially susceptible to power outages.
