Abstract
Poverty has been a social problem in the world, including the Philippines. This study aimed to analyze and examine how the government intervention through implementing the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) empowers the socio¬ economic status and well-being of the exited 4Ps women beneficiaries in the City of San Fernando, La Union. Fifty-five respondents from the various barangays in the City of San Fernando, La Union, were asked to answer a survey questionnaire, and twenty-one were interviewed. It was revealed that the economic status of the exited 4Ps beneficiaries was very highly attained during their tenure as beneficiaries. The program's financial assistance has helped them finance their children's education and health and theirfamily’s essential commodities. However, the study also revealed that when they exited from the 4Ps, the majority still needed to attain the level of application of theirtraining. Most need work and depend on the program'sfinancial assistance. Moreover, most of the interviewed respondents have yet to attend any training. Therefore, it shows that the 4Ps don't have a long-term improvement in the socio-economic status and well-being of the exited beneficiaries but a short-term improvement only during their tenure.
