Abstract
An economical and eco-friendly technology is now a high call to agriculture to promote safe and healthy foods. Organic fertilizers are good alternative. Hence the study was conducted to determine the effects of organic foliar fertilizer as supplements vermicompost to the growth and yield of corn conducted at experimental area of DMMMSU-NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union from November 5,2013 to January 25,2014 following Randomized Complete Block Design with five treatments in three blocks.
Application of 2kg vermicompost/linear meter supplemented with foliar fertilizer such as vermitea, sheep manure tea and sargassum seaweed tea produced higher yield in terms of fresh weight of corn ears ranging from 8881.48kg- 9531.13kg; dried weight of corn ears 5449.38kg - 6086.42kg; grain yield of 4012.34kg - 4646.91kg per hectare as compared to plants applied with BSR (150-30-0 kg/ha) corn ears fresh and dry weight 6730kg/ha and 3 970.37kg/ha respectively and a grain yield of 3093.83
kg/ha.
