Development and evaluation of Cadena de Amor (Antigonon leptopus) dyestuff

Abstract
The study aimed to develop and evaluate the dyestuff from Cadena de Amor (Antigonon leptopus) dyestuff, determine the color value, evaluate the colorfastness of the dyed royal poplin and linen fabric in terms of colorfastness to washing, colorfastness to sunlight, and colorfastness to perspiration, and determine the significant differences in mordant used (Alum and Copper Sulfate) and boiling time. The study used the developmental-descriptive-evaluative research design. The statistical tool used was the weighted mean. For the colorfastness properties, a questionnaire was used. A mobile application (color grab) was used to determine the color value. Findings show that the color value of the dyed royal poplin and linen fabric yielded neutral color. Evaluating the colorfastness to washing and colorfastness to sunlight was a good performance. No significant difference existed in terms of mordant and boiling time except in colorfastness to sunlight in terms of boiling time.
