Abstract
Lactic acid bacteria serum (LABS) are beneficial probiotic organisms that contribute to improve nutrition, microbial balance, and immuno enhancement of the intestinal tract, as well as lower cholesterol. This study was conducted to determine the performance of broilers fed with 3% FC + 6% FM, 6% FC + 3% FM and 9% FC + 9% FM of lactic acid bacteria serum-fermented mungbean and corn as feed additives. This study was conducted from November 17, 2012 to December 21, 2012 at the Poultry Project of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-North La Union Campus, Bacnotan, La Union employing the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in three blocks.
The result of the study revealed that the birds fed with all levels of lactic acid bacteria serum-fermented mungbean and corn as feed additives performed comparably with the birds fed with commercial feeds in terms of final weight, gain in weight, feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, and profit above feed, medicine and stock cost.
