Abstract
Although commercial growth promoters have been effectively used to improve
germination and seedling growth of crop plants, they are costly and usually not
available. Hence, a study was conducted to determine the effect of coconut water and
moringa leaf extract as seed priming substance to the growth and yield of mungbean
(var.pag - asa 7). The different treatments are T0 - No soaking, T1 - GA3, T2 – Wate, T3 -
Coconut water, T4 - Moringa leaf extract, T5 - 50% Coconut water + 50% Moringa,
employing RCBD in four blocks at Bungro, San Fernando, La Union from November 28,
2015 to February 7, 2015.
Based on the result of the study seed soaked with GA3 and water emerged earlier.
Moreover seed soaked with coconut water gave the highest potential yield of 479.00
g/plot and 1330.42kg/hectare.
