This study aimed 10 determine the effectiveness of gamification in mathematics teaching in the primary grades. The research method was a quantitative research using one group pretest-posttest with the integration of traditional gamification (Tic- tac- toe). The experiment results revealed that there was a significant difference of the performance of pupils in the pretest and posttest by using traditional game in adding 2- to-3- digit number. Thus, integrating of traditional gamified learning tools using the conventional mathematical game tic-tac-toe increased the students level of engagement in teaching mathematics as it also help students increased their motivation and improved academic achievement.
