Publication Implementation of ginger as one town one product of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University -Open University System, 2018) Gasigas, Sandie A.; Sarmiento, Rowena N.; Malagday, Catherine D.; Apostol, John Jericho B.The study aimed to assess the status of Ginger as One-town, One product of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur. It was conducted among the Municipal implementers which includes the Department of Agriculture and the Rural Improvement Coordinators, the farmers and the members of the Rural Improvement Club (RIC) members. As the study was descriptive in nature, data were gathered primarily through the use of questionnaire. Moreover, additional information was gathered through actual interview with the respondents. There were 85 respondents. Six (6) from the Department of Agriculture, Two (2) from the Rural Improvement Club Coordinators; twenty-seven (27) farmers and fifty (50) members of the Rural Improvement Club members. The study revealed that there is a high potential of ginger as One Town One Product in the Municipality of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur. The availability of labor force or manpower indicating that there is a great number of farmers indulge in planting ginger are the highest factors that indicates its potential as One Town One product of the said municipality. Likewise, in its extent of implementation as One Town One Product covering all the indicators presented which includes technical, financial and promotions which also got a high rating. The lack of support or assistance from the Local Government Unit of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur is considered to be the most serious problem encountered.Publication Status of NU skin business builders: a basis for an enhanced entrepreneurial capability building program for synergy 1 global in La Union(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University -Open University System, 2016) Sabado, Alexis C.This study made use of the descriptive survey method. The questionnaire is the main tool in gathering the information needed. This focused on the profile of the respondents, the level of resilience of respondents, the level of entrepreneurial potential of respondents, and the effect of seatbacks encountered by the respondents. A total of 20 respondents were given questionnaire in the province of La Union. The findings of this study revealed the following: As to their gender, there were more females (70%) than males (30%). As to their educational background, the highest number was those who graduated from college (50%) and the least number was those who have not yet graduated from college and with Ph.D. units (10%). As to their civil status, many of the business builders were single individuals (60%) and only one was a widow (5%). As to their work status, many of the business builders were employed (75%) and minority was a business owner (5%). As to their income range, there were many business builders with the income range of P9,001- P20,000 (50%) and the least were those business builders with the income range of P 30,001 - P40,001-P 50,000 (5%). As to their property ownership, 35% of the business builders owned a car and 50% of the business builders owned a home. The output of this study is a proposed enhancement entrepreneurial capability building program for Synergy 1 Global in La UnionPublication Tagudin samahan ng magkakalamnsi producers cooperative : a case study(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University -Open University System, 2016) Carganilla, Clariza Jane D.; Tique, Gelaiza Lem B.This case study was conceptualized in order to assess and evaluate the degree of marketing efficiency and effectiveness of the Tagudin Samahan ng Magkakalamansi Producers Cooperative in order to formulate a Strategic Marketing plan. The study used descriptive research method, questionnaire and interview as data gathering tools. Further, researchers undergo immersion process for purpose of observation. A total of thirty-four (34) respondents coming from the cooperative supported this study. Upon study, researchers learned that the cooperative has no existing marketing plan. This prompted them to thoroughly examine the general profile of the cooperative as well as its management system particularly on the organization, marketing, operational and financial aspects. Upon evaluation, internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats were identified and recommendations were formulated. The aforesaid recommendations include the following: 1. Use of dispenser or vending machine ; 2 use of substitute materials ; Implement cost cutting measures; 4 Intensive education campaign; 5 Application of consignment basis; 6 Technological advances; 7 establishing an outlet/retail areas 8 . Due to restrictions and safety protocols, Digital Technology is the key to surviving the businesses during this pandemic. Thanks to the technology, many establishments are trying to use this for operating their businesses. One of the businesses that transitioned to Digital Technology is the Restaurant establishments. Since the pandemic, Denisia’s Grill and Seafood Restaurant Bauang and Bacnotan branch also experienced challenges like decreased sales because of the limited customers due to restrictions. They tried the food application where they can automatically receive the order. They needed to adjust their supply chain because of the sudden changes like restrictions, health protocol such as logging in of customers who are entering the establishments, social distancing, and the operating hours. Restaurant owners are posting their menus on their Pages where they can accept orders through Messenger or accept advance orders and reservations. Because of the advancement of Technology, Businesses still operating and surviving. The goal of this study is to find out how restaurant owners survive during this pandemic.
