Item Beyond skills: correlates between spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction for the future human resource development program(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2026-04) Bueno, Jiffrey B.This study examined the level of spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction, as well as the relationship between the two, among 145 faculty members of the University of Baguio, Philippines. Using a descriptive-correlational design, data were gathered through the Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory (SISRI-24), the short-form Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ), and open-ended responses. The results showed that all four dimensions of spiritual intelligence—Critical Existential Thinking, Personal Meaning Production, Transcendental Awareness, and Conscious State Expansion—were very high, with Personal Meaning Production being the strongest. Job satisfaction was also high in both intrinsic and extrinsic aspects, especially in autonomy, student impact, collegial relationships, and supervisory support. Somers' D analysis showed that all dimensions of spiritual intelligence were positively related to both intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction, with coefficients ranging from 0.145 t0 0.323 (p < 0.05). Based on these results, the study suggested Project SIFaS, a three-part program to improve spiritual intelligence, job satisfaction, and faculty development in private universities in the Philippines.
