Item Community analysis of transplanted mangroves in La Union(Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - South La Union Campus, 2026-05) Asunto, Margirie A.This study assessed the status of selected transplanted mangroves in La Union from September 2021 to December 2021. Ground measurements and percentage cover of mangroves were categorized as excellent. Total organic matter ranges from 0.75 to 1.98, and chlorophyll a ranges from 0.001 to 0.020 ug/L. Salotherodon melanotheron was the most abundant among the collected fish samples, Penaeus indicus was the most abundant among the collected samples of crustaceans, and Crassostrea sp was the most abundant mollusks. Temporal distribution of fishes and crustaceans was highest in December, with 381 and 354 individuals collected, respectively. Temporal distribution of mollusks was highest in November, with 111 individuals. Spatial distribution of fishes in Station I has 377 individuals, Station II has 247 individuals, and Station III has 278 individuals, respectively. For crustaceans, Station I has 276 individuals, Station II has 324 individuals, and Station III has 242 individuals. Station I has 154 individuals, Station II has 23 individuals, and Station III has 116 individuals regarding the spatial distribution of mollusks. Relative values of the diversity index of fishes, crustaceans, and mollusks were very low to low based on the Shannon Diversity Index (Fernando et al., 1998). For fishes, the highest similarity index of 60 percent was observed between Stations II and III, and the lowest similarity index of 55 percent was observed between Stations I and II. For crustaceans, Stations I and III have the highest similarity index. with 80 percent, and Stations I and II have the lowest index of 31 percent. For mollusks, Stations I and III have the highest similarity index, with 45 percent. Stations II and III have the lowest similarity index, with 11 percent.
