Abstract
A mother tongue-based instructional material in teaching music for Grade 3 is of the greatest needs in the field.
This study focused on the development and validation of instructional materials for Grade 3 Music teachers. The descriptive methods of research using questionnaires in assessing the availability and adequacy of instructional materials using Iloko lesson plans and Iloko songs; the validity, acceptability and suitability of the songs and validity along content, format, presentation and organization and accuracy and timeliness of the lesson plans.
Findings showed that Iloko materials in teaching Grade 3 music are not so available and not so adequate. The Iloko songs as evaluated by the music experts were very highly valid, suitable and acceptable. The lesson plans as the output of the study is highly valid along content, format, presentation and organization and accuracy and timeliness.
