Abstract
Self-efficacy refers to people’s belief that they can successfully perform given academic tasks at designated levels. In this study, the role of self-efficacy of the student and how it affects their academic performance was examined. This paper aimed to determine the level of self-efficacy of the junior high school students in the reverse integration program. The role of self-efficacy as correlated to academic performance was also considered. Data were gathered through questionnaires administered among 50 junior high school students. First and second quarter grades in English, Math, and Science were also retrieved. Results indicated that students had a moderate level of self-efficacy in general, task-specific, and academic. Low self-efficacy in Math was recorded. The study also found that the students in the reverse integration program performed fairly satisfactory in English, Math, and Science. Furthermore, correlation revealed that self-efficacy and academic performance have a significant relationship.
