Abstract
Resilience is the ability of a person to recover after a stress or problem. Like any one, adolescents, who are in their critical years of development, must be helped in coping with their own issues. La Union National High School caters to a diversity of students who commonly experience stress. This quasi-experimental research is intended to determine how the Grade Seven Students cope with problems and how to develop resilience in order to help them become more resilient in facing day-to-day stress. Through the use of a standardized test made by the Psychological Association of the Philippines called Katatagan, the pretest and posttest of the 269 respondents were statistically treated to measure the degree of resilience. From the result of the pre-test, a Resilience Program was developed and experimented to the respondents for every hour per week. After six weeks, results show that the Resilience Program improved the level of resilience as evidenced by a significant difference in the pretest and posttest scores of the respondents. Thus, the developed Resilience Program is effective to this set of students.
