This study determined the performance of students using Problem - Based Learning approach in teaching Physics. One-shot group pretest- posttest experimental research design was used in this study. The respondents were the fourth year high school students of DMMMSU — SLUC Laboratory High School batch 2013. The students were grouped based on their IQ scores, learning styles and multiple intelligence. Collaborative learning and differentiated instruction were also integrated in this approach where students worked with their group mates and performed different tasks with different outputs assessed using rubrics. Pretest-posttest, periodic test, reports, presentations, participation and projects were used to assess the students’ performance. Frequency count, percentage, mean, Pearson r, and t-test were employed to treat the data. The findings of the study showed significant improvement on the performance of the students as reflected in the pretest-posttest, periodic test, reports, presentations and projects. This implies that Problem-Based Learning is an effective approach in teaching Physics.
