dc.description.abstractThis study determined the effectiveness of the enrichment activities in Physics using relay teaching among the fourth year high school students of San Jose National High School, Caba, La Union for S.Y. 2010-2011. Specifically, it determined the quality of the selected enrichment activities in Physics, the Grade Point Average (GPA) in Third Year of the students, the mean scores in the pre-test of the two groups and post-test of the four groups; differences in the mean scores in the posttest of the experimental and control groups; and the differences of the mean scores in posttest among the four groups in terms of enrichment activities. It utilized the descriptive method in the development and validation of the instructional material in Physics for Fourth Year high school students and the Solomon four group design where the first group of the experimental and control groups were given pretest and the remaining two groups did not undergo the said test. The enrichment activities in Physics were utilized during the treatment in the two experimental groups. A posttest was given to the four groups after the treatment. Findings showed that the GPA in Third Year of most respondents posted 80-84 and 85-90 ranges of grades respectively. The quality of the selected enrichment activities were rated Very Good. There are significant differences in the mean scores in the posttest of the students of the experimental groups and control groups. There are significant differences in the mean scores among the four groups in terms of enrichment activities. In utilizing the enrichment activities in Physics through relay teaching, the performance of the students in the two experimental groups was better than the two control groups. Therefore, the enrichment activities in Physics using relay teaching were effective.
