This study, which used descriptive research design, determined the profile of non-TLE teachers, and the challenges encountered in teaching TLE. The respondents of the study were the 26 non-TLE major teachers teaching TLE subject in the 8 secondary public schools in the 2 district of La Union. Findings showed that non-TLE teachers in junior high schools are aged 31-40 and held bachelor's degrees with master's units. Their primary specializations were in Science and Mathematics, with most holding the rank of Teacher III. Despite having limited experience and training in TLE, these teachers generally demonstrated competence and employed effective teaching strategies. However, significant challenges were noted, particularly in facilities and equipment, as well as in assessment practices. Serious problems included inadequate training, lack of resources, and excessive workloads. Statistical analysis revealed that higher educational attainment and field of specialization significantly influenced teaching strategies, competencies, and the severity of problems encountered. The study proposed a development plan that includes relevant training, resource provision, and assessment support to enhance teaching effectiveness among non-TLE major teachers.
