dc.description.abstractThe study endeavored to study the stress level and coping mechanisms of working women of Barangays Poro and Ilocanos Sur, City of San Fernando, La Union. It identified and analyzed the profile of the respondents; stress level related factors (physical, psychological, behavioral); coping mechanisms (physical, psychological, emotional, social, spiritual aspects). A wellness program was developed based on the survey result. This descriptive study collected data through the administration of questionnaires to 83 and 113 married working women from Barangay Ilocanos Sur and Barangay Poro respectively. Occupation of the working women — majority of the working women are laborers (98), Occupation of the husband — 65 of them are laborers, Number of children — there are 112 working women who have children 1-3, Educational attainment — there are 87 who are undergraduate (college), Monthly income — most of the working women are earning Php 9,000 and below (120), The stress level of the working women (physical, psychological, behavioral) are all average. The degree of utilization of coping mechanism (physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual) of the working women is all moderately utilized. No Significant differences were noted between the occupation of the working women and their physical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual coping mechanisms. Significant differences were noted between the occupation of husband of the working women and their physical coping mechanism. No significant difference between the occupation of the husband and their psychological, social, emotional and spiritual coping mechanism. No significant difference exists between the working women classified according to the number of children in terms of physical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual coping mechanisms. Significant differences were noted between the working women grouped according to educational attainment and all of the coping mechanisms .Significant differences were noted between the working women grouped according to their monthly income and all of the coping mechanisms. Significant relationships are noted between any of the stress level factors and any of the coping mechanisms. A wellness sustainability program was developed based on the significance of related variables.
