Abstract
The study sought to formulate a La Union District Hospital's Healthcare Waste Management Plan. The descriptive survey was utilized to determine the level of awareness of the healthcare workers and the extent of implementation of the Healthcare facility in the implementation of waste management policies, guidelines, and standards, the extent of compliance of the La Union District Hospitals on regulatory and statutory requirements of Department of Health Manual and problems encountered by the hospital personnel. The result shows that hospital personnel are aware of the implementation of policies, guidelines, and standards of healthcare waste management. The primary challenges faced by healthcare workers in implementing waste management policies in La Union District Hospitals revolve around uncooperative patients and co-workers, lack of funds, and staffing shortages. A plan is needed to achieve a high level of performance in the Healthcare Waste Management of the La Union District Hospitals in delivering quality healthcare services.
