This study was conducted to determine the effects of different types of rearing system, i.e. elevated and non-elevated and evaluate the quality of some locally available litter material (river sand, CRH and wood shavings) on the productive performance of broiler. The study was conducted from November 2021 to December 2021. A total of 90 day-old chicks were assigned to each treatment following the Strip Plot Design with three
replications.
Result of the study disclosed that different types of rearing system and different types of litter material has no significant influence on the performance of broiler. However, on the interaction of rearing system by kinds of litter materials disclosed significant results on feed consumption and head weight.
