dc.description.abstractThis study determined the governance and management performance of public secondary school heads of La Union as basis for training program. Descriptive method of research was used and questionnaires were used as data gathering tools. Findings revealed most of the school heads are in middle adulthood, masters’ graduates, and have attended seminars and workshops. School heads performed outstanding while teachers performed very satisfactory. Findings showed that school heads are very highly aware on governance of basic education. Their level of attainment on managerial functions along administration and supervision are very satisfactory. They are highly competent based on the principal competency profile. Based on the finding, a training program on governance and management is proposed.
