Abstract
This paper analyzed the attributes of guidance counselors in terms of their skills, strategies, attitudes, work profile, and emotional profile. The respondents were 59 guidance facilitators of secondary public schools in the 2TM District of the Division of La Union. Descriptive-correlation research design was employed in the analysis of the respondents’ attributes. Fisher’s exact test and Somer’s d was used in the data analysis.
Findings revealed that guidance facilitator had acquired the skills, strategies, attitude and emotional profile that needed in their designation. However, they lacked in implementing some strategies that needed as they deliver their services into their designation as facilitators are recommended to pursue a degree in guidance and counseling and pass the licensure exam on Guidance Counselor. An enhancement training program was proposed based on the result of the study.
