| dc.description.abstract | The sector of agriculture and fisheries are commonly dominated by males due to the heavy level of work involved. This study aimed to determine the participation of women in agriculture and fisheries in Rosario, La Union. The survey questionnaire was tested very highly valid and reliable based from content validity and reliability result, and it was answered by 239 farmers and 30 fisher folks in Rosario, La Union. The results revealed that the women are middle aged, married and undergraduate with low income. The women are involved in crop production, livestock breeding and production, chilling, handling and processing of the catch, and marketing of the products, and mostly spent at least one hour a day. Their participation resulted to increased household income and purchasing power, and improved access to inputs and products. However, they have experienced limited access on agricultural and fishery inputs, assets, and financial capital. | |
